Since we’ve been receiving about 10-15 emails a week asking when the next BLOOM workshop is going to be and when we are going to open registration for it, we’ve decided to go ahead and open it up so you can reserve your spot. The workshop is tentatively slated to start around the second week of February 2010…we just haven’t settled on an exact date yet. Once we do, we will post it here immediately. =) Remember, we have combined the course this year so BEGINNINGS and CREATE are in the same workshop. You can just sign up for the BEGINNINGS portion if you like which lasts 4 weeks and then you have the break week to gather up the information, actions, etc from the board. If you choose to do the entire workshop, it last 9 weeks with week 5 as the break week (so the BEGINNINGS bloomies can save the info).
If you would like more info about the workshop, please click on the WORKSHOP INFO link at the top of the page. If you still have questions, please feel free to email us a BLOOMWORKSHOPS@gmail.com.
We just finished up the last workshop of the year and it was a blast!! The new format was wonderful (which we couldn’t be happier about)! We are a little sad to see it end because we had a fantastic group of ladies on the board. We leave though bursting at the seam with pride for all the girls and seeing them grow as photographers but most importantly, that we have made some fantastic friendships with them all. Here’s a couple of what the girls have told us about the workshop (yes we still get all teary-eyed reading them):
“Thank you, thank you, thank you, Brenda and Kristy! It actually doesn’t even seem sufficient enough to say after all that you girls have done for me.
Before I started this workshop I wasn’t in great shape (mentally or physically) after just having a baby and feeling a bit trapped in my world of diapers and temper tantrums. I needed an outlet and a good friend suggested I enroll in this course as a way to learn more about my passion for photography.
I literally bought my first digital slr (or any slr for that matter) and Photoshop a week before the workshop started hoping to tread amongst the more experienced bloomies on the board and learn a little something along the way. To my surprise, you really started at the “beginning” with us and held our hands as we made our way into the not so fun but oh so critical technical side of photography. You answered ALL of my questions promptly, thoroughly, and without judgment. I am proud to say I am a “manual only” girl! I always felt that the board was a safe place to learn and try new things. The reading material was and is something I will use as a resource as I continue in my photography adventures. The assignments you created for us were meaningful and especially during the “Create” portion pushed us to think outside of the box and step out of our comfort zones so that our individuality could shine through. Your critiques were always constructive, positive, and geared to our individual styles. I especially loved how all of the members could see and comment on each others’ posts. I learned so much from other critiques and suggestions made for other members as well.
When I started in this workshop almost 9 weeks ago, I didn’t have high expectations for my future in photography and basically just hoped to get better pictures of my boys with a better camera. Brenda and Kristy, I can honestly say you have given me the skills and confidence to pursue photography much, much further. This has been SO MUCH MORE than an outlet for me. It has given me the chance to explore a creative part of myself that I didn’t know I had. Looking back now, I think I’ve appreciated the little moments so much more since I’ve been behind the camera.
I’m not exactly sure where this road is going to take me, but I couldn’t leave without telling you how much I appreciate all you have done for me. If only we lived closer so I could give you both a big hug. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

“I know I always say this but Lulu really does say it best “how do you thank someone who has taken you from crayons to perfume” Thats how I feel about being here… that we have moved from the beginning of our pro photography journeys into claiming our style and creativity. We are blooming.
Honestly, the chance to create under your watchful eyes has been incredible. Your direction and guidance has been invaluable… we, your fledgling chicks have been given the wings to soar.. and soar we will. SO thank you, even though these words are inadequate…thank you from the heart of my bottom er, okay if you insist… the bottom of my heart!”
-GAIL
“I was actually a first bloomie for the premeir Bloom Workshop. Prior to that, I wasn’t even thinking of starting a business, I just wanted to learn more about photography. But because of Brenda and Kristy, I learned so much and was so inspired, I started my own business.
You two really are amazing. Not only do you give of your time to all of us so readily, but you share your knowledge and creativity in a way that is unique to both of you. I have learned so much in this Create portion and again, I feel so inspired to pursue my dream. Thank you so much, Kristy and Brenda!”
-MELISSA
“Brenda and Kristy, the thanks go to you. I have learned so much, but what I really like is how much you got me thinking. About PS, ACR, actions, presets, a million techniques, EXPOSURE, again EXPOSURE, my business and what I am worth, how to CREATE my shot, to think like a photographer and to BLOOM as a photographer. I could go on and on.
Most of all thank you for being a photographer that has shared the secrets and helped other photographers. I have search long for this.”
-SUE
“Well, this has been a really GREAT experience… I have already said this, but I´ll repeat it, you Brenda and Kristy have been so, so, SOOOO generous! You showed so much patience and passion in each cc… I received from you more than expected, really. I must keep on practicing to improve my skills, but I feel I have a much richer background as a photographer now. BLOOM has changed me completely! not only regarding photography skills, but this workshop has also stamped my heart with the passion of photography.
T H A N K . Y O U
You will always be in my heart!”

We have been sooooo extremely blessed in all the workshops with such wonderful girls! Thank you to ALL the girls in ALL the workshop!
So are you asking “how do I sign up?” EASY! There are a couple things you can do. First did we mention that we are going to do an early bird special? I haven’t…well guess what….we are! If you just sign up for the BEGINNINGS portion of the workshop, you get $25.00 off. So regular price is $400.00, the early bird special is $375.00. If you want to go the whole distance and do the entire workshop, you get $50.00 off. Regular price is $650.00, early bird special is $600.00. BUT, the special ends Saturday, November 14th at noon CST so don’t wait. Remember we only take 30 students for the workshop…spots fill up fast. =)
What we are going to do is give you three options:
1. Putting down a deposit to reserve your spot.
2. Paying half the amount of the workshop (of course reserving your spot).
3. Or paying the entire amount and you’re in and ready to go! =)
About a month before the workshop starts, we will send out invoices for the remaining balance.
Just click on the button you want to use and secure your spot! =) This would make a great early Christmas present to yourself! LOL!!
ETA: The early bird special is over! Thanks so much everyone! The button prices below reflect the regular price of the workshop.
The February 2010 workshop is full!
